It’s easy to come into the office and treat every day as “just another day.” But what if you treated every day, every opportunity, like it was gold!
Start each day with powerful questions like these:
- How can I make a significant impact today?
- In what ways can I go the extra mile and not just do a good job – but an outstanding job?
- How many people can I make smile today?
- Who needs encouragement today?
- How can I supply that?
- What is a small improvement I can implement immediately that will transform the way we do things?
There are many more of these types of questions you can ask yourself.
Here’s my challenge to you:
- Ask yourself at least one question like this at the beginning of each day this week and take a few minutes to ponder an answer.
- Even if you don’t come up with an answer right away, your brain will be working on it throughout the day.
Whenever an answer does come into your mind, don’t question it – go and do it! - Take action.
- At the end of the week, look back at what has happened as a result of your actions.

Great advice. I have a space on my calendar pages (yes, I am still the paper calendar user!) where I go back and review the week and see where I have encouraged people or gone the extra mile (for me it is usually continuing education)
I have to admit to also keeping printed calendar pages on my desk!
