“Anytime you don’t feel confident, it comes across to everyone else.”

What do we need to do as leaders to have more confidence, especially in areas where we’re not feeling so strong?
What we focus on has a great deal to do with how we feel and how we perform.
If you focus on fear, you amplify it. But if you focus on success — on how you’re going to succeed and prepare — that becomes your reality.
Watch this 5.5 minute video in which Dave and I share examples of this, and how to change your psychology to give you more confidence.
Now here’s your homework:
If you’re struggling with confidence in any area, take inventory. Ask yourself:
- What’s going through my head?
- What am I believing that may be causing this lack of confidence?
- What am I focusing on?
Then play with it. Change the lens. Change the angle. Focus on something that empowers you instead of dis-empowering you.

Great advice. I like how you describe the actions like a camera!
Thanks, Martha!
I am full of doubts and fears sometimes. I like to change my thoughts and focus. I am going to experiment thinking camera wise of changing my lens and angle. Very good advice. Thank you.
Lily: It’s easy to let our doubts and fears derail us. Try it, and let me know if it helps!
