I totally agree. A leader can gain a lot of insight from people who aren’t part of the group speak. They have a different perspective on what is going on in an organization and gain valuable solutions to issues before they become reactive situations.
Yes. The key is that you have to listen, and actually mean it. You don’t have to take everything as gospel, just show that you are really listening and considering the input.
It’s not just leaders who can learn from outliers. Outliers are the agents change and progress. Status quo gets us no where. We need to always be moving towards betterment.
So true. Everyone can benefit from hearing diverse views.
